Hooray a new year! …Now that that’s over with.

Early on in the month, I decided to put together a sort of ‘mega list’ of what I will be doing in art. It’s gone through a few variations already, with different projects I’d like to work on getting scheduled later or sooner than others.

As of writing this, I’m currently working on face structure. I was originally working on putting together a lengthy 14 frame-by-frame comic, but I very quickly discovered that most of the content was portrait work, and as I did refined more and more of the sketches it became very apparent that it was very difficult to keep a character design consistent. As I tried to keep designs consistent, the faces started to look… ‘off’. So I got fed up with working on it, and decided to start working on faces, but more importantly, face structure. Construction lines are often shown in various “How to draw” tutorial books, and it’s actually kind of funny how I’ve never actually done those until now. There was a bit of struggle with getting things placed correctly, but I think I have at least a decent grasp of the concept now. Since there are so many different kinds of faces I need to learn, I decided to just ask people for 4 different species types. the 4 types I will be drawing a lot of more probably another month, are: Lynxes, dragons, wolves and deers. I’ll be giving each of them a general expressions chart to follow off of when I feel like I’m ready for it. I’ve completed a Female Lynx chart already, trying to mess with the design of the lynx as I go. I’m also going to try out human faces again, because that’s always good to do anyway. So basically, I’m going to be working on fundamentals drawing for a while. Again. At least it’s going well.

Oh right, one of the major things that has happened with this website is that I’ve moved hosting! I’m sure you’ve noticed by now that there is a new button over on the right sidebar for “NSFW Galleries”. I actually couldn’t openly share NSFW content before, because it was against Siteground’s policy. Hostgator, the new host, does. I’ve also fiddled with the organization of the galleries too.

I’ve also started playing Hollow Knight, and am very close to completing the game (at around %104 or so). I very much recommend it. It is a metroidvania, map exploring side-scrolling platformer, with very tight controls and difficult boss battles. The atmosphere and ambiance of the game is amazing with incredibly original designs and environments. The music is very relaxing while exploring and intense while fighting.
