If looking at the grand scheme of things with “art” in mind, then I would have to say that May was not actually the greatest month for it. I sometimes didn’t stream for multiple days, and this is a big issue for me in particular now because I feel like I can’t really draw unless I stream it, as sad of an excuse as that may be. I get distracted very easily, and having that idea that “hey, someone is actually watching” helps me keep focus on the art. I don’t have any other way of explaining what exactly was going on either, other than there were a LOT of days where I felt completely exhausted. Thinking was hard, doing things was hard. I don’t know, it wasn’t very fun, I can at least say that. In any case, I what did manage to do in the month of May was a few more chibis, some other commissions and sketches, and officially announced “June Fundamental Month!”

Fundamental month is, I suppose, another way of saying “art bootcamp time” like in previous cases, but more fun sounding, I guess. I won’t bother restating / re-listing what I said I’m going to work on (Like I keep doing apparently) but fundamentals in artwork are the bare-bones, like the structure of a face, or body and such. I’ve gone around and asked a few people about their thoughts on my art, and surprisingly I had varying degrees of the same answer. The answer being, in general, “maybe it’s time to work more on style?” I’m not actually sure how to approach that, other than to keep doing what I’m doing. I guess the best way to go about it is to apply that thought to my personal art and see how it goes in general.

Sigh, at the time of writing this out, I’m having a really hard time figuring out what I should actually write. I honestly can’t really remember any major “noteworthy” bits in May. I guess the fact “I was tired” is a good one, and the takeaway from that is that I’ve already adjusted my schedule a bit, and feel a tons better now? I guess? Like I said, not a great month, currently very unsure about myself, hard to write about.

For the topic of my streaming, I’m changing what I do on it a little bit. When I do start taking commissions again, I’ll be splitting the stream contents into effectively 2 categories, and 3 segments. The 3 segments are simple, I start streaming at 1:00 PM PST and take 20min (ish) breaks every 2 hours. So it looks basically like this:

    • 1PM – Start of Stream
    • 3PM – Break
    • 5PM – Break
    • 7pm – End of Stream

I’d actually like to extend the time by an additional two hours, ending at 9:00 PM PST, and I might actually fiddle around with that for Fundamentals Month! We’ll see. The point of the list is that there are 3 segments of streaming, with 2 breaks in between. 1:00 to 3:00 and 3:(20) to 5:00 will be dedicated to commission work, whereas the last part of the stream 5:(20) to 7:00 will be dedicated to my own work, whatever that may be. Should I choose to add the additional two hours, I think I’ll dedicate them to more of my own personal work, that way at any given day I’m doing equal parts commission work and personal work. Should I start to get overloaded with commissions (which shouldn’t happen really) then I can easily exchange the personal time to commission time.

And in case you did not know, I currently use the streaming services of Picarto (NSFW): https://picarto.tv/Blokfort

Also also, the current personal project I’m working on is blowing my mind away, it’s pretty great! A little animated gif of Kalta. Very simple, but I’m still happy with it!
